The anticipated salary range for this role is between $188,000.00 and $220,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
JOB SUMMARY: The Third-Party Risk Management Governance Lead will have second line risk management oversight of the Third-Party/ Vendor management program across both our digital bank (Jenius Bank) and commercial banking business at SMBC MANUBANK. This position will guide business stakeholders and senior management to ensure activities meet and adhere to company policies/ guidelines and are within the risk appetite of the bank, while collaborating with the parent company to ensure harmony in risk plans and processes.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement a robust third-party risk assessment process with a scope that emphasizes the stages of the Third-Party Relationship Risk Management Life Cycle (due diligence and third-party selection, contract negotiation, ongoing monitoring, termination, and planning). Providing subject (risk) matter expertise for the Third Party Risk Management Program - attending working groups, providing effective challenge of assigned risk ratings, monitoring key risk indicators to ensure appropriate oversight of 1LoD activities and ongoing reporting of risks and current state evaluations to key stakeholders and board members. Partnering with the parent companies' Third Party Risk Management team to determine applicability to the SMBC MANUBANK processes and associated frameworks. Identifying and defining minimum requirements within policies and collaborating with the business to ensure procedures and processes adhere to minimum policy requirements and are within the risk appetite of the bank. Supporting the on-going development and improvement of the Third Party Risk Management and Oversight Program, through collaboration with stakeholders, process, technology and automation. Reviewing incoming third party engagement requests, performing quality checks of risk profile information for completeness and accuracy and following up with business requestors as needed. Keep apprised of emerging risks, regulatory changes, and industry best practices related to third-party risk management. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's or equivalent
Skills/ Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years of experience in a risk management or compliance role within the financial services industry, with a focus on third-party risk management. In-depth knowledge of FRB regulations, OCC, and FDIC guidance related to third-party risk management. Strong understanding of industry best practices for third-party risk management. Self-directed with ability to work independently, as well as leading or participating in a cross-functional team environment. Strong attention to detail with leadership, problem solving and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
