Our company is looking for an experienced technical writer to support the best software engineering teams in the world. This writer will work closely with technical leads to improve the developer experience and productivity through high-quality documentation. The writer will produce developer-facing system documentation, product guides, reference materials, and e-learning content. The right candidate is an excellent communicator and has a demonstrated ability to initiate projects and manage any/all necessary steps to completion. Depending on writing experience and technical knowledge, the writer will collaborate with our engineers and technical program managers as well.In this role, you will:Write, edit, maintain, and improve content including, but not limited to technical system overviews, internal services, user guides, knowledge base articles, tutorialsCollaborate closely with engineering leads on documentation process improvements, documentation discoverability, and long-term knowledge managementGuide, motivate, and train engineering teams to adhere to documentation process improvements and maintenanceIndependently drive, manage, and prioritize multiple projects in a quickly changing environmentQualificationsAt least 4 years of experience writing for software developers, electrical engineers, technical operators, quality assurance teams, safety engineers, and etc.Experience producing, optimizing and organizing written materialsExperience using authoring tools such as Doxygen, XML, Markdown. Expertise with Confluence would be immediately impactfulExperience with programming languages such as Python, C++ is a major plus, but not requiredCompensation and BenefitsThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $140,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
