Full job description Purpose: This AutoCAD Technician position is responsible for creating and maintaining technical drawings on the computer of all products offered and manufactured by LISEGA, INC.
General Duties: 1. Prepare, check and review documents and drawings as required by the Engineering Product Supervisor.
2. Revise drawings to reflect current changes and complete drawings.
3. Model basic 2D & 3D parts in digital assemblies; prepare drawings, specifications, layouts for patterns, and instructions to production.
4. Aid in creating, maintaining, and archiving revisions of CAD/ PTC Creo Parametric drawings.
5. Operates AutoCAD (computer-aided design program) and peripheral equipment and confers with engineering and design staff to convert engineers and technicians' designs into working computer-drawing packages.
6. Operates PTC Creo (computer-aided modeling program) and peripheral equipment and confers with engineering and design staff to convert engineers and technicians' designs into working computer model/ drawing packages.
7. Uses additional programs (Word, Excel, etc.) to complete drawing packages.
8. Focus on design details improving manufacturing and lowering tooling cost.
9. Work closely with design originators (e.g. Engineers, designers) to resolve design details or discrepancies, or to prepare drawings of unusual, complex, or original design, which require a degree of precision.
10. Work with engineering counterparts to detail drawings for shop personnel.
11. All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: 1. A minimum of an Associate's Degree or equivalent in CAD.
2. Two Years AutoCAD/ PTC Creo Parametric experience.
3. Complete an entry level AutoCAD test and adhere to duties of AutoCAD skills matrix.
4. Possess a mechanical aptitude and experience in working with mechanical components.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (detailed oriented).
6. Maintain proficiency in the use of 2D and 3D CAD packages –AutoCAD, PTC Creo Parametric packages and Microsoft Office software.
7. Willing to work overtime as required during critical periods.
8. Self-directed and able to work independently without continuous direction or with limited direct supervision.
9. Attention to detail, initiative to self-learn design and engineering methods, and ability to prioritize work and document task.
