Meagher & Geer, P.L.L.P., a leading litigation defense and insurance coverage law firm, is searching for a System Administrator to work in our office in Minneapolis. This is an exempt position with some supervisory responsibilities and will report to the Director of Information Technology.
Primary Function: Provide front line support for the Firm's catalog of computer systems and applications as well as support for the firm's VOIP, hardware, printers, mobile devices, video conferencing and other technologies as needed. Also provide escalated support via phone, email, remote desktop control and desk-side for approximately 180 users in six office locations. Provide support for traveling and remote users. Work hours include regularly scheduled business hours and some after-hours coverage including monthly maintenance windows. Must consistently maintain documentation. Interact with IT peers, vendor support, and users to troubleshoot and resolve escalation issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Microsoft 365 Administration, including Exchange Online and EOP, Azure Active Directory, Multi-Factor, Group Policy, SCCM, OneDrive, InTune, File and Print Services, Certificate Management, computer accounts, and passwords. Administration of wireless networks Identify the need and schedule vendors to repair network devices, storage, phones, computers, printers and other devices as needed. Install and configure desktops and servers, networking devices, computers, printers, phones and other hardware and software as needed. Participate in new hardware and software rollouts. Maintain and update related project documentation, with particular emphasis on user feedback and satisfaction issues. Provide backup coverage of other IT positions in the absence of staff, e.g. coverage of helpdesk and provide escalation support to IT staff members. Participate in the development and maintenance of the standard desktop image. Recommend and develop updates and changes to the image with an emphasis on enhancing the end-user experience. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred plus a minimum of three years or more of IT experience providing Systems Administration in a complex environment. Microsoft and CompTia Certifications preferred. Previous law firm experience strongly preferred. Proven experience in using and supporting server applications on premise and in the cloud. Proven technical skills for diagnosing and troubleshooting application, operating system, and hardware problems. Excellent communication skills for interaction with all members of the firm. Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, in spoken and written form, to technical and non-technical audiences. Strong time and priority management skills and ability to perform the primary functions of the position with minimal supervision. Ability to lift weights of up to 40 lbs. for handling computer equipment installations. Good color vision and hearing, for performing computer related diagnostic work and for providing telephone support. Ability to sit for long periods of time doing diagnostic work on computers. Good keyboard skills necessary for computer operations. Ability to function in a typical office and data center environment, in a moderate noise environment and also in a cooled equipment area (data center). Ability to work a flexible schedule, including irregular evening and weekend hours, and to provide extended hours when required for specific project activities and during urgent problem situations. Significant experience in all or some of the following applications: VMWare vSphere and Horizon, Pure Storage, Microsoft SQL, Exchange Online, O365, Zoom, SharePoint, Scripting (SQL, Powershell). Veeam Backup. Basic Knowledge of all or some the following applications: iManage Worksite Document Management, Aderant Expert, BigHand, RightFax, UNIFlow, Summation, Relativity, SCCM, and AntiVirus.
