Under the direction of the Medical Director and Administrative Leadership, provides day-to-day oversight, management and support of the sleep laboratory. The Sleep Lab Supervisor directly supervises staff and oversees all sleep laboratory staffing and human resources-related issues. The Sleep Lab Supervisor also monitors work flow, evaluates performance of the technicians and personnel, helps establish procedures, and recommends systems for optimum performance. The Sleep Lab supervisor maintains and improves daily clinic operations that include the preparation, analysis, monitoring and reporting of monthly and yearly department budget and budget variances, as well as personal issues, inventory control and material management. Oversees all sleep laboratory staffing and human resources-related issues. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Writes, reviews and implements departmental policies and procedures in collaboration with Medical Director. Identifies Performance Improvement (PI) Indicators. Monitors and Analyzes PI data and takes appropriate steps to assure that the defined targets are met. Participates actively in the selection, training and counseling of employees. Assesses staff competency and completes performance evaluations in a timely manner. Plays a key role in the evaluation, selection and implementation of new technologies and equipment. Maintains and assures employee interdepartmental records and files are up-to-date. Oversees and participates in the orientation and clinical training of new and existing employees. Promotes an environment of teamwork where individuals work together daily relying on each other to achieve mutually agreed upon results. Serves as a liaison to meet organizational objectives and goals. Participates in multi-disciplinary teams and projects to improve organizational effectiveness. Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned. Job Specific (Minimum Requirements)" Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrates clinical competency in patient care for department supervising. Demonstrate ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy. Excellent interpersonal & leadership skills. Able to lead and direct the work of others and collaborate with members of management. Able to provide a positive attitude and support the organization and work with team members. Basic understanding of of financial and statistical tools. Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and accurate use. Education High School/GED Equivalent is Required.
Accredited Educational Program or an Associates Degree in Sleep Technology is Required.
Experience Two years experiencce performing sleep study procedures is required.
Certifications and Licensures BLS is Required
Polysomnographic license and/or certification as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST),
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS) is Required.
