Work 20-40 hours per week during the summer over a combination of afternoons/evenings and weekends. You choose Part-time or Full-time.
Extend your availability to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during May, September and October too and we'll do our best to accommodate your desired work schedule as long as you have availability to work evenings and weekends.
As the first impression of the St. James Hotel, we are seeking Guest Service Representatives to be integral members of the team that creates distinctively different and authentic experiences for our guests. You will warmly and enthusiastically greet arriving guests and assist them with check-in/out to ensure they are comfortable and feel welcome while also providing information. You will promote hotel services and amenities to the guests. Additionally, you will answer guest calls, make reservations, accept guests' requests, and redirect to the appropriate department if needed.
Primary Responsibilities: Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly and positive manner. Provide the highest level of service. Process check-ins and check-outs, verify billing, create reservations, answer phone inquiries, and process special requests. Drive sales and maximize revenue by upselling rooms and amenities. Assist guests by having knowledge of hotel property, local attractions, and hours of operation of hotel outlets and services. Monitor room availability, follow restrictions, and all booking policies and procedures. Work as a team player in meeting guests' needs and actively contribute to the efforts of other departments when necessary. Follow proper selling techniques and ensure strategies are utilized to maximize room revenues. Be knowledgeable about hotel emergency procedures. Qualifications One-year certificate from college or technical school and three to six months related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends; Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; Basic Microsoft Office Suite experience.
Additional Desirable Qualification: A minimum of 1-2 years of hotel front desk experience. Experience with a Property Management System. Strong verbal and interpersonal skills. Work well both independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail. Commitment to exceptional guest service. Ability to maintain a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor when handling all situations. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess strong multi-tasking abilities.
