Job SummaryThe College of Engineering, Engineering Student Services, is searching for two Student Services Professional III's. The Student Services Professional III, is responsible for providing independent academic advisement, counseling, and related services, including but not limited to: advising students on course selection, study abroad, change of major, academic probation, disqualification, and readmission.Department SummaryAs a division of the College of Engineering, Engineering Student Services provides an inclusive, respectful, encouraging environment that fosters the retention and graduation of all undergraduate engineering students. Through our Advising, Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP), and International Exchange Program (IEP), our staff provides comprehensive services to guide and empower students to achieve their goals.Key QualificationsGeneral knowledge of the principles, practices and trends of the Student Services field as well as general knowledge of the policies, procedures, activities and practices of the program area to which assigned.General knowledge of individual counseling techniques.General knowledge, or the ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge, of the overall operation, functions, programs, organizational procedures, and activities of the campus.Education and ExperienceEquivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution. Three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience.A master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience.A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.Salary and BenefitsAnticipated Hiring Range: $63,315 - $74,239 annuallyClassification Range: $63,312 - $90,204annuallyCal Poly offers a best-in-class benefits program, including health, dental and vision insurance, retirement participation in the Public Employees' Retirement System, and educational benefits for eligible employees.
