Position functions as a professional staff assistant to the Director of the Bureau of Specialty Behavioral Health Services of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The primary responsibilities include providing strategic direction specific to Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities matters, providing facilitation and oversight in the development and implementation of behavioral health policies and procedures, serving as the liaison between the Bureau and MI Kids Now initiative, and collaboration with all MDHHS administrations on key policy initiatives. Responsibilities also include coordinating activities for the Bureau Director; reviewing policy development and changes; analysis; research; developing documents, reports, and correspondence; and representing the Bureau Director's viewpoint in meetings with agency staff.

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience
State Assistant Administrator 15
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Preferred: At least five years or more experience working on behavioral health programs. The physical location of this position is 400 S. Pine St, Lansing Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.
Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

 
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
o A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
o A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
o Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
