Staff Instructor, Upward Bound, MathScott S. Cowen Institute For Public Education Initiatives Location: New Orleans, LASummary The Staff Instructor, under the supervision of the Director and Assistant Director, will facilitate and teach core academic courses in Mathematics at Upward Bound. Courses are designed to provide participants with the rigorous academic skills, study habits and discipline necessary for success at the post-secondary level. The curriculum and the development of the course will be based on national standards and metrics of college readiness with an emphasis in project-based learning. Additionally, instructors will assist the program staff with developing participants' college readiness skills, completion of college applications, financial literacy, 21st century soft skills, ACT review, and other necessary components. These components are designed to ease the transition from secondary to post-secondary education.  
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an education related field and 2 years of teaching experience in the core academic area of Mathematics. Preferred Qualifications Certification in specific content area. Experience working with at-risk youth.
