STAFF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST / STAFF ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER Broadbent & Associates, Inc. of Reno, NV is looking to hire an organized full-time Staff Scientist or Engineer to oversee a wide variety of complex environmental projects . A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A STAFF ENGINEER OR SCIENTIST As a Staff Scientist or Engineer your hard work ensures that we deliver for our clients. Under the supervision of a Project Manager, you provide support on a wide range of environmental projects including: collection of surface and groundwater samples, water and wastewater engineering design under supervision of a PE, remediation system operation and maintenance, water and wastewater treatment facility monitoring, and water resources investigations. Your primary job function will be to support the Reno, NV office. You will support field work activities as needed to drive project execution and ensure that appropriate health and safety procedures are being followed.
People skills are essential as you interact regularly with contractors, regulators, and clientele. Though some time is spent in the Reno, NV office, preparing project reports and completing routine administrative tasks, you are also responsible to conduct field activities such as seeps and spring monitoring, well sampling, and drilling. Collected field data is summarized in reports and presented to Project Managers. QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENGINEER/SCIENTIST Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earth Science, or other related field Technical writing competency Strong technical and computer skills Self-starter, quick learner and effective communicator Ability to work individually and as part of a team Ability to work consecutive long days in the field under varying adverse weather conditions (hot, cold, windy, and sometimes wet) Are you detail-oriented? Do you have technical writing and research skills? Are you a problem-solver? Are you organized and able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks? Do you have excellent communication skills? Are you energetic, self-sufficient, and motivated? Are you collaborative and team-oriented? If so, you might just be perfect for this position!
WORK SCHEDULE This full-time Staff position typically works Monday - Friday with occasional traveling and weekend work.
