What this position is all about: Rocky Mountain Children's Health Foundation is entering a whole new chapter, with exciting growth plans in the works. To help bring those plans to life, we are looking someone who is highly motivated, passionate about children and families, skilled in accounting, and interested in supporting our Foundation with a number of critical tasks. This person will work closely with our finance, fundraising, and culture teams to create and provide administrative support within the Finance department.

Whether it's a newborn in need of donor human milk to thrive, a child with a serious illness looking for the companionship of a furry friend, or a family who needs to buy gas to visit their child in the hospital, we are there for them when and how they need it most.
Responsibilities: Maintain and update accounting records and files, both physical and electronicPost transactions and categorize records in the general ledgerAssist in month-end and year-end closuresPrepare documents and files for the annual auditMaintain and apply new accounting policies and controls to ensure compliance with rules and regulationsReport to the Director of Finance and work to improve financial processesManage accounts payable, including maintaining vendor records, following a paperless process, managing credit card payments, managing electronic statements and automatic payments, and preparing and maintaining 1099 filesManage accounts receivable, including maintaining customer records, invoicing customers and donors, applying payments to invoices, processing credit card and check payments, and monitoring and resolving AR outstandingProcess payroll and benefits paymentsRespond to requests from internal and external constituents for supportBuild strong rapport with staff members so you can collaborate on ideasAttend regular check-ins with cross-departmental teamsAttend trainings and webinars, staying up to date on the latest trends and toolsAssist with special events effortsWeekly reconciliation with Development to reconcile RE reportsWhat we're looking for: At least 2 years of accounting experienceExcellence in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelQuickBooks experience is a plusAttention to detail is essentialStrong organizational and communication skillsA hard worker who has great ideas and even better follow throughA collaborator who enjoys connecting with othersA fast learner looking to build skills while making a differenceAccounting degree a plus, but not required Benefits of working as a Staff Accountant in Denver, CO:
