Globe 24-7 in partnership with their client in Nevada, United States is in search of a Underground Senior Engineer.
Position Overview
We're actively seeking a seasoned Underground Senior Engineer to join our Underground Mining department. The ideal candidate will spearhead short-term mine planning and design initiatives. This role offers a distinctive opportunity to lead a compact team of engineers and contribute to the development of one of the globe's largest underground ore reserves.
The Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Plan, coordinate, and schedule detailed engineering phases within a significant project or moderately scoped total project.
Conduct surveys, tests, or investigations, interpret findings, and generate recommendations, summaries, schedules, and cost estimates. Collaborate with representatives from other departments to align planning and scheduling efforts.
Execute work involving conventional engineering practices while navigating complex elements such as conflicting design requirements, non-standard materials, and intricate coordination needs.
Develop and assess plans and criteria for diverse projects and activities, devising innovative approaches to encountered challenges. Exercise originality and judgement in independently resolving issues.
Create and assess metrics to gauge operational efficiencies and potential for growth.
Oversee workload allocation and deliverables from the site engineering and survey team, ensuring accountability for results.
Fulfil additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a prerequisite.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Mining sector is mandatory.
Preferably, candidates should possess ventilation expertise.
At least 3 years of experience in mine design and scheduling is required.
Prior experience in the Mining or heavy mineral industry is essential.
Project management skills are advantageous.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, Deswik software suite, and VentSim is desirable.
