This is a global category role that provides the opportunity to identify and execute value-driven strategies across many functions, regions, and businesses. These strategies will leverage Medtronic's global scale to drive year-over-year value within the Travel and Fleet categories. In this role, you will partner with both functional and strategic teams to develop and implement pan-Medtronic category strategies across the globe.The opportunities to create value across this ~$500M category are limitless, and we are seeking a candidate who thrives on building new opportunities every day to learn and make a difference. Medtronic walks the walk, creating an inclusive culture where you can thrive.To learn more about Inclusion & Diversity at Medtronic Click HereA Day in the LifeResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.As the Sr. Sourcing Category Manager, Travel and Fleet, you will:Identify strategies across the entire Travel & Fleet portfolio that utilize multiple levers to drive sustainable and incremental valueLead your team to utilize global Travel & Fleet policies and data to drive enhanced spend managementLead team of SMEs to identify and efficiently execute projects that deliver valueCoach employees at varying skill levels to develop advanced sourcing skillsBuild strategic relationships with internal stakeholders/leadership and critical suppliersEngage and influence multiple stakeholders to adopt and implement strategies developed by the category team; Medtronic is a highly matrixed organization and having the ability to influence and leverage the matrix is a key requirementDevelop and implement sourcing strategies that result in a sustainable competitive advantageDemonstrate Market Intelligence and share trends to ensure Medtronic is at the forefront of the Travel & Fleet spaceLead your team to perform RF(x) events and/or contract negotiations to drive competitive pressure and ensure maximum value is realizedPartner closely with key functions that support supply management (e.g., legal, finance, quality/compliance)Lead supplier relationship management for your categoriesRecommend solutions to business problems and/or identify opportunities for improvement, and present ideas to leadershipEducate on key indirect supply management initiatives and policiesDevelop robust data gathering and data quality maintenance protocols to ensure spending transparency and support the development of a baseline for sourcing cost reduction effortsIdentify insourcing and outsourcing opportunitiesEstablish and support a work environment of continuous improvementMust Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelors degree requiredMinimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experienceNice to HaveDemonstrated experience in building and executing successful strategies in the Travel and Fleet categoriesAbility to influence teams and external suppliers to deliver results Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BIDemonstrated leadership, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, tact, judgment, and organizational skillsDemonstrated strength in analytical skillsGlobal Category Management experience (Strategy Development and Execution in accordance to Strategic Sourcing methodology)Ability to partner with and influence internal stakeholdersStrong program management skillsSolid business and legal acumen with a high attention to detailPositive and energetic team player with strong cross-functional team experienceAbout MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
