Are you passionate about DevOps and enabling the delivery of business value? Kinsale Insurance has an opening for a Senior DevOps Engineer who will report to the Senior Manager of Infrastructure Operations. Collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Application Development, and Architecture teams to recommend and implement improvements in relation to the AWS Cloud environment and DevOps tools and platforms that support CI/CD processes at Kinsale. The Senior DevOps Engineer will provide technical guidance and support to other members of the Infrastructure Operations team.
Responsibilities
Collaborate and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Infrastructure Operation team's engineering practicesIdentify and implement improvements to the application delivery process (CI/CD)Identify and implement improvements to Kinsale's cloud-based infrastructureProvide technical leadership and guidance to team members, developers, and other stakeholdersAutomate Linux configuration tasks and processes utilizing scripting and configuration management tools such as Bash, Python, and AnsibleAutomate the deployment of applications/workloads in AWS or on-premises environments, using tools such as Gitlab, Terraform, and HelmIdentify and implement additional tooling to support Kinsale's cloud and container strategyIdentify opportunities to reduce manual deployments and configuration tasksCoach other team members on best practices and technologiesQualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, technology, or demonstrable experience in information technology rolesFive or more years of experience working with Kubernetes and container technologiesThree or more years of experience working with AWS technologies and Gitlab for CI/CDAdvanced experience with:
Application monitoring and syntheticsScripting and markup languages such as YAML, Python, and Bash
Implementing and maintaining DevOps tools such as Jira, New Relic, Gitlab, Nexus Repository, HashiCorp Consul, and Vault
Demonstrated ability to stay current on the latest trends and technologies and to identify opportunities for their useExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills
