We are looking for Arizona Special Education Teachers to join our team of educators. A background in managing teachers is preferred, while a passion for ongoing learning is a must. You will modify existing curriculum on basic subjects (e.g. math, writing) to meet each student's learning requirements and build individual lesson plans tailored to their specific needs. You will also discuss with parents and support staff about important matters that might impede students' progress.Ultimately, you will help and inspire children to achieve important learning milestones.Responsibilities:Assess students' abilities and craft teaching plansAdapt learning materials to students' needsKeep track of and reflect on students' progressMonitor children's behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if neededFind engaging activities to teach skills (e.g. drawing and theater drama)Manage classroom crises and resolve conflictPrepare students for transition to the next gradeInform parents about their children's performance and potential problemsCoach/mentor other professionals who work with children with disabilitiesCollaborate with the support staff (e.g. school counselors and speech therapists) to create holistic intervention plansRequirements:Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant roleGood knowledge of current special education topics and methodologiesExperience working with children with a wide range of disabilitiesAbility to create IEPs A patient, resourceful, and resilient personalityExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsValid state special education certificateBS in Special Education; MS is a plusMandatory:Must possess a clear Arizona Special Education Teaching CredentialMust live in or be in the process of relocating to ArizonaMust have verifiable classroom teaching experience or be newly credentialedReciprocal out of state licenses currently in-progress will be consideredBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceVision insurance
