The marketing department has an exciting opportunity to join their team. Our Social Media Specialist is responsible for the ongoing activities within The Henry Ford's social media channels including, but not limited to, editorial planning, community moderation and monitoring, reactive and proactive engagement between The Henry Ford and its online communities, content creation, applying knowledge of channel nuances and community members' online behaviors to help optimize engagement, and providing insight and recommendations on how to maximize community engagement. This position reports to the Social Media Manager.
Essential Responsibilities Conduct daily online community engagement on behalf of the THF brands, including moderating all social media channels, responding to guest queries and conducting social media listening Use third-party tools to organize, schedule, publish and monitor campaigns from all areas of the institution across relevant social media channels and online communities Create brand-aligned written, video, photo and graphic content tailored to specific audiences and platforms to maximize engagement across Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and other emerging platforms Manage the institution's social media ambassador program, including identifying potential ambassadors, building and maintaining relationships with ambassadors, and planning and executing ambassador events Interface with all internal departments to relay timely and accurate information to and from THF's online communities Contribute to the development, implementation and ongoing optimization of community strategies Report on the status and successes of community engagement efforts Coordinate online corporate partnership deliverables to ensure sponsorship contracts are fulfilled and aid in relationship-building with external partners Work with the Business Intelligence, Reporting and Analytics team to collect, interpret and leverage online community data for the purposes of increased engagement and acquisition Serve as institutional advocate for our online communities Performs other activities as necessary Your Qualifications Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field 2 years of experience in social media marketing Demonstrated professional knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn Demonstrated knowledge of third-party social media publishing and monitoring tools, and best practices (Sprout Social preferred) Demonstrated knowledge of project management software (Workfront preferred) Strong project management skills including proven ability to manage projects from concept to completion Demonstrated ability to produce original social content, including photos and videos (Adobe Creative preferred) Special Skills: Able to collaborate and interact with team members from all areas of the organization Excellent written and verbal communication Obsessive attention to detail; especially passionate about good grammar Must exercise good judgment and be flexible in scheduling Great communicator (listening and presentation skills) Ability to work effectively within a team Organizing, prioritizing and multi-tasking ability Flexible and able to adapt in a fast moving, results-oriented culture This job description is subject to change at any time.
