Job Title: Social Media and Content Developer
Responsible to: Communications Director
Classification: full time, Monday-Friday, 40 hrs/week, FLSA Classification = Exempt
Position Overview:
As the AIM US Social Media and Content Developer you will play a pivotal role in amplifying AIM's mission and ministry efforts across Africa and around the world, working to create engaging content to inspire, inform, educate, and equip American believers and the American church in support of AIM US mobilizing efforts.
This full-time position involves crafting compelling content for social media and other digital platforms, editing impactful videos, and supporting various communication projects, including email marketing campaigns for events and initiatives, and co-producing AIM's monthly Inlander podcast.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Social Media Management:
• Develop and implement a social media strategy tailored to the unique contexts and audiences within Africa and the US.
• Create engaging content for social media platforms, reflecting AIM's work across Africa and around the world.
• Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and foster community
interaction and engagement.
2. Video Editing:
• Produce and edit visually captivating videos that showcase the work, impact, and stories of AIM across Africa and other ministry locations.
• Collaborate with field teams to gather video content, ensuring authenticity and cultural sensitivity.
• Ensure videos adhere to AIM's branding guidelines and effectively communicate the organization's mission and values.
3. Email Marketing:
• Assist in the creation and execution of targeted email marketing campaigns to promote events, fundraising initiatives, and ministry updates.
• Segment email lists, track engagement metrics, and optimize campaigns for maximum impact and reach.
4. Podcast Production:
• Co-produce AIM's monthly podcasts, including reaching out to prospective guests, providing sample questions, and preparing for interviews.
• Depending on giftings, conduct podcast interviews either onsite or online, ensuring quality and relevance to AIM's mission and audience.
• Edit finished interviews and prepare them for distribution via podcast outlets,
maintaining consistency and professionalism.
• Promote the podcast through social media channels, email marketing, and other communication channels to increase listenership and engagement.
5. Other Content Marketing:
• As needed, assist in the creation of other digital content for distribution and marketing. This may include the creation of blog posts, photo essays, editing and redistributing webinar content, or other special projects.
Qualifications:
• A heart for missions and alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Africa Inland Mission.
• High level of creativity and strong sense of design
• Proven experience in social media management, video editing, and other content creation
• Resourcefulness in garnering content from a wide range of sources and shaping it to work well in social media and other contexts.
• Proficiency in video editing and design software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with sensitivity to cultural nuances and creative access concerns.
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and cross-functional team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
