Position Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, organized, and possess a strong commitment to compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing firearms.
Responsibilities:
Receiving:
Receive incoming shipments of firearms, ammunition, and related merchandise. Inspect all received items for accuracy, completeness, and quality. Document and record received items accurately in our inventory management system. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the receipt of firearms and ammunition. Shipping:
Prepare outgoing shipments of firearms, ammunition, and accessories. Package items securely and ensure proper labeling and documentation for shipping. Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries. Maintain accurate records of outgoing shipments and tracking information. Inventory Management:
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by conducting regular stock counts and reconciliations. Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies or shortages to management. Help organize and maintain the storage area to optimize space and accessibility. Compliance:
Stay informed about current laws, regulations, and best practices related to shipping, receiving, and handling firearms and ammunition. Ensure strict adherence to all legal requirements and company policies regarding the handling and storage of firearms and ammunition. Work closely with management to address any compliance issues or concerns promptly. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in logistics or related field preferred. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or inventory management, preferably in a retail or warehouse environment. Familiarity with firearms and firearm safety protocols desirable. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and document information. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Proficiency with computer systems and inventory management software. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
