Full job description Position Description Position Overview: The Constituent Services Coordinator will serve on the External Affairs division as part of the division's Community Relations team. In this role, the Constituent Services Coordinator will play a vital role in facilitating effective communication and engagement between the Harris County Judge's Office, and county residents. This position is responsible for addressing constituent concerns, providing information on county services and programs, and serving as a liaison between community members and county departments. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic and a deep understanding of the needs and priorities of Harris County and the County Judge's Office

Harris County is the third largest and most diverse county in the nation, with a population of more than 4.7 million, rivaling the size of the entire state of Louisiana. Judge Hidalgo functions as the CEO of Harris County and presides over the Harris County Commissioners Court, the County's governing body. Along with four County Commissioners, the County Judge directs a budget of more than $4 billion, providing essential services such as justice administration, flood control, infrastructure, and housing. Judge Hidalgo also serves as Harris County's Director of Emergency Management.
Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and respond to daily constituent and stakeholder correspondence by email, phone, or through in person visits with constituents.
Assess constituent needs by maintaining casework and researching related topics to proactively determine which services and assistance are necessary and provide information and referral services to resolve issues for constituents.
Maintain detailed records of constituent interactions, inquiries, and resolutions, using appropriate databases and software.
Track and analyze constituent trends and patterns and report those patterns to the Chief of External Affairs and the Director of Community Relations to make recommendations for improvement amongst county departments and programs, where needed.
Attend community meetings and briefings, and may provide relevant updates to the public.
Prepare ceremonial documents, such as certificates, proclamations, and resolutions for public presentation and distribution.
Problem solve both independently and as part of a team.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field, from an accredited college or university.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in relevant positions with increasing responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and readiness to work on several projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Teams, Outlook, and Google Suite.
Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituents in a diverse community.
Possess exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills in a deadline driven work environment.
Self-starter and flexible while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work under tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
Encourages a respectful and collaborative work environment that recognizes and celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality and sound judgment, maintain composure under pressure and manage time efficiently.
Work as an advocate for Harris County.

Familiarity with local, state, and federal agencies and departments.
Knowledge of issues and events in the county, especially where the County Judge is involved.

General Information Position Type and Typical Hours of Work: Regular Full-time
Monday - Friday | 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Requires the ability to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, on a frequent basis.

Salary: Depends on qualifications
Based on 26 pay periods

Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
