Co-founders Chef Junghyun 'JP' Park & CEO Ellia Park, and Naeun Hospitality (the highly acclaimed team behind Atoboy [2016] and Atomix [2018]) are currently seeking a Server Assistant to join the opening team at NARO.
Located in the iconic Rockefeller Center, NARO's cuisine is rooted in traditional Korean ingredients and draws inspiration from classic dishes throughout Korea's rich history. Featuring multi-course tasting menus as well as a la carte options, NARO focuses on more subtle, delicate flavors that are vegetable-forward, highlighting traditional techniques.
We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic food & beverage professionals, with endless curiosity and love for the restaurant industry, to learn and grow with our restaurant. Our Server Assistant will maintain the service standards and demonstrate exemplary hospitality and service to our guests. This is an ideal position for someone whose passion for food and beverage is matched by their deep commitment to guest service & hospitality.
This position reports to the NARO Assistant General Manager and NARO General Manager. For this position we offer $15 an hour plus tips.
Server Assistant responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Opening and closing the dining room and establishing a good environment so the team is well-prepared to execute a successful service - ensuring all opening and closing side work checklists are completed. Work together with the kitchen team to conduct seamless and refined service for our guests. Working in tandem with Servers and Food Runners to curate a memorable dining experience for all our guests - especially in regards to overall table maintenance. Responsible for leading water service and assisting with coffee and tea service. Assist with any other service needs while on the floor (e.g. assisting with dining room maintenance during service, running beverages from bar, clearing and remiseing tables, etc.). Expected to be constantly growing, learning, and expanding their knowledge base. Qualified Server Assistants must be energetic, enthusiastic, and have a great attitude.
At least 1 years of backwaiter experience (preferably in a fine dining setting) Possess exceptional floor presence Knowledge and/or experience with Korean food & beverage is a plus but not required Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 10- 20lbs if necessary Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant.
