Then the infrastructure team is for you!Looking to take the next step in your career?Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivatedSenior Traction Power Engineerto join our North American Infrastructure group in our Rail Systems team in theAmbler, PA (Suburban Philadelphia)area.Other possible locations:Brooklyn, NY; Chicago IL; Newark, NJ; Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CAIn this role the ideal candidate is a results-driven engineering professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Candidates must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.As the successful candidate, you will:Lead a group of junior electrical engineers to develop traction power design packagesDesign traction power substations, feeder and equipment sizing, site plans, duct bank and conduit layouts, grounding systems, and auxiliary power supply systems and control circuitsCoordinate with other engineers for systems integration and designPerform load flow simulations and prepare reportsDevelop documents including specifications, drawings and cost estimatesReview project submittals and requests for information from contractorsProvide installation, testing and commissioning support to clientsManagement of traction power projectsYou bring to the role:A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering15 to 25 years of experience with dc traction power systems design, including the design of 600 to 1500 Volt dc rail transit traction power substations, ac and dc switchgear, transformers, rectifiers, and controlsWorking knowledge of NFPA 70 is required and thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codesProfessional engineer's license or engineer-in-training certificate is an advantageExperience with the North American transit/transportation industry is highly desirableRelevant experience may be considered as a substitute for degree requirementsThe following skills/experience is a plus:Load flow simulation softwareKnowledge of power systems analysisExperience in factory testing, field testing and commissioning of traction power equipmentExperience in protective relayingExperience in medium voltage switchgear application-design and specificationKnowledge of railway overhead catenary/third rail distribution systemsProject management experienceManagement experienceWhy join us?Work with great people to make a differenceCollaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutionsTop employer What we offer you?Flexible work environmentLong term career developmentThink globally, work locallyDon't meet every single requirement?
