We're growing our innovative team at Paths for Families, dedicated to the life-long work of building and sustaining families. Position Overview The Senior Social Worker supervises two therapists who are providing school-based clinical services to Prince George's County high school students living in foster care, kinship care, or adoptive families, and their families. This seasoned professional ensures program staff deliver exceptional, culturally competent, high-quality counseling and support services. The Senior Social Worker will carry a caseload of approximately 10 students and will facilitate parent workshops.
The Senior Social Worker reports to the Director of Clinical Services. The position is a contract, time limited, school-based hybrid position requiring both in person and virtual work. This position is projected to start in June 2024. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Clinical Supervision. Provide regular clinical supervision to supervisees including two therapists. Serve as the primary therapist for approximately 10 clients at any given time. Facilitate groups. Train supervisees as necessary in the agency's approach to family and individual therapy, treatment protocols, diagnostic assessment, interpretation, treatment planning, and documentation guidelines. Facilitate internal and external groups, workshops and webinars as needed. Performance Management. Complete annual evaluations of each supervisee in accordance with agency policy and procedures. Provide administrative supervision to ensure that clinical case records are maintained in accordance with regulatory standards and internal protocols. Case Oversight. In collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services, ensure that new cases are promptly assigned, and that each supervisee has a manageable caseload. Reporting & Contract Management . Maintain and report required data and narratives. Supervises contract management and adherence to ensure the timeliness and quality of all contract deliverables. Community Advocacy. Maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders and attend community events to promote the services available through Paths for Families. Education & Experience Master's degree in social work (MSW). Professional license (LCSW-C) to provide independent clinical services. Board certified supervisor who can provide clinical supervision to social workers seeking clinical certification in Maryland. Certification or training in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Experience providing individual and group therapy for children, youth, parents, and families impacted by trauma, attachment wounds, adoption, guardianship, and involvement with the child welfare system. At least two years of clinical supervisory experience in a therapeutic setting. Preferred Skills & Abilities Comprehensive understanding of the MD child welfare system. Demonstrated understanding of the impact of attachment wounds, trauma, and emotional and behavioral responses in the provision of permanency competent counseling. Demonstrated ability to lead a team, provide clinical supervision, and to effectively engage with diverse populations. Familiar with a broad base of therapeutic modalities including evidence-based practices (TF-CBT, TBRI, and SBIRT), with individuals, children, families, and groups with the ability to train other professionals. Ability to design, implement and improve treatment plans for clients with the ability to diffuse and manage crises. Highly organized and experienced managing client information, case notes, and reporting using an Electronic Medical Record System. Proven ability to adhere to contract deliverables and reporting standards for public partners. Ability to maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders and agency colleagues. Ability to think and work independently, prioritize and problem solve. Experience providing and supervising therapeutic services using tele-health. Bilingual in English/Spanish is desirable. The salary for this position is $79,000 with full benefits including:
