Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to support our growing heat shield fabrication business. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being out on the shop floor, solving problems in close collaboration with production staff. Specific tasks include:
Ensures that our industrial, aerospace and defense products, production methods and systems meet or exceed customer expectations and complying with regulatory requirements Monitor and report on key quality metrics and identify areas for improvement Effectively lead and manage a team of quality professionals including engineers, inspectors and analysts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and customer service, to identify and resolve quality, safety and compliance issues. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain certifications, including AS9100/ISO9001, Nadcap, DDTC/ITAR, and CMMC. Conduct quality audits and supplier evaluations to ensure compliance with standards and specifications Develop and implement training programs to improve quality awareness, culture and skills across the organization. Management of training logs
Management of calibration programs. Management of 3rd party NDT and destructive testing suppliers. Skills Required Bachelors degree in engineering or other technical field. At least 5+ years of experience leading a team in quality management, with a proven track record of improving product quality and customer satisfaction, preferably in a fabrication setting. Working Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, Nadcap, CMMC. Experience with quality tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control, APQP. Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred. Must have detailed understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, GD&T. Extensive experience in qualification of first articles, preferably using both PPAP and AS9102 processes. Strong leadership and team management skills. Must have a general understanding of welding, preferably resistance welding per AWS D17.2. Must have ability to simplify complex issues into actionable plans and communicate them across the organization. Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Spanish/English proficiency is desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
