In this role, you will manage the conference sales strategy, driving collaboration with internal and external partners to achieve overall conference goals. As a key member of our team, you will be accountable for securing over $10 million in revenue annually.
Responsibilities:
- Manage onsite logistics for industry offerings across conferences, overseeing exhibit hall floor plans, business meeting requests, and innovative approaches to drive attendee engagement.
- Develop and cultivate business relationships with key industry decision-makers, advising them on sales opportunities and creating extraordinary experiences to achieve their business goals.
- Oversee logistics planning for advertising, sponsorships, and Industry Therapeutic Updates (ITUs), including location identification, timeline management, and material review.
- Negotiate directly with vendors to purchase required items and materials for the successful fulfillment of contracts.
- Provide direct employee supervision, including selection, training, performance management, compensation administration, and termination of employees.
- Motivate and support a team of sales professionals to consistently meet or exceed their sales goals for sponsorships and exhibit space at conferences.
- Cultivate career growth opportunities for direct reports to keep staff engaged.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Business, Management, or a related field is required.
- Certifications in Exhibition Management (CEM) or Meeting Planning (CMP) are preferred.
- 5 years of experience selling conference and exhibit hall space, with demonstrated success in generating $10 million+ in revenue as part of a team.
- 3 years of supervisory experience or equivalent experience leading program teams, project teams, and/or team lead experience.
- Prior experience using exhibit management software (e.g., a2z) and Salesforce is required.
- Pharmaceutical industry knowledge and experience are preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in prospecting, vetting, maintaining accounts, and executing sales plans to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and record-keeping.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to deliver when facing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
