The person in this position will produce and execute virtual learning programs (webinars, web-based training, and virtual conferences), in-person instructor-led training, user guides, blogs, and other career-related resources. Design, development, and facilitation skills are a must.
HOW A SENIOR INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Designs and develops instructional approaches and interactive courseware to meeting training requirements Participates in developing business strategies for new and existing products that meet government training needs Consults with government agencies, subject matter experts and instructional designers to learn requirements and builds innovative training programs and content Conducts research for relevant learning program content Develops training materials including web-based training, instructor guides, student guides, supplemental training materials such as quick reference guides, and other training content, as needed Plans, develops, manages and evaluates in-person, online and hybrid training programs Supports learning technology initiatives, including webinars, online courses, self-paced e-learning and streaming video Prepares regular program content and messaging (course descriptions, learning objectives, outreach emails, etc.) Assists with the preparation of business proposals and contract reporting activities, as needed
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor's degree in instructional technology, e-learning, instructional design or related field
Required Experience: 5+ years of experience developing and supporting online learning and other learning technologies preferred
Required Technical Skills:
Knowledge of Adobe Captivate, Rise 360, Storyline, or other Web-based Training software.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent understanding and application of all phases of the ADDIE process. Knowledge and application of adult learning theory. Working knowledge of Section 508 compliance, and conversion of training and supporting documentation into 508 compliant products. Experience facilitating training in-person in a traditional classroom setting or on-line via virtual classrooms Experience developing learning design documents, storyboards, and e-learning prototypes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of major online delivery and content sharing platforms (i.e. ON24, WebEx, Adobe Connect, Blackboard, SharePoint, etc.)
