Responsibilities
• Supervise the case management program to provide rehabilitation therapy for clients from around the state• Communicate with, motivate, provide, and/or coordinate training, and direct the work of subordinates• Complete timely performance appraisals, develop work plans, and approve monthly attendance and leave• Make hiring and disciplinary recommendations• Reinforce internal and external cooperation and teamwork• Utilize counseling and coaching strategies to ensure acceptable job performance of subordinates• Advise Supervisor and Personnel Administrator on personnel issues• Discuss job performance with subordinates• Ensure proper completion and submission of time and attendance documents• Participate in recruitment, selection, and training of staff• Promote professional development and educational opportunities• Oversee and practice good stewardship of organizational resources• Supervise assigned volunteers• Maintain state-wide communications with students' referring counselor and family• Assist in public education and liaise with other agencies serving the client• Monitor referral process and case data collection• Maintain client contact reports• Coordinate new student orientation• Assess new psychological testing/evaluation methods• Supervise case management for assigned students attending the Center• Develop policies to ensure consistent center documentation• Assist students in developing plans for independent living skills and vocational goals• Review and disseminate client progress reports• Maintain organization of curricula, reports, and essential documentation• And other duties as requested
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in social, behavioral or rehabilitative science, education, or visual disabilities preferred• 4 years of professional experience in social, economic, health or rehabilitative programs or program analysis• Master's degree can substitute for 1 year of experience• Knowledge of State and Federal Regulations, rehabilitation technology, and medical aspects of vision loss• Ability to monitor programs, supervise staff, and develop resources• Effective verbal/written communication skills• Ability to interpret regulations and provide directions to instructors• Must complete all sections of the candidate profile and account for employment gaps• Must be able to pass a Level II Background screening
