PSE's Office of Controller team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open  Senior Energy Accountant  position!

Job Description Puget Sound Energy's Energy Accounting Department is looking for a Senior Energy Accountant to join a vital and vibrant team helping to ensure PSE is our customer's clean energy partner of choice. This position is integral to the Controller's Office, the greater Finance Function, and PSE's mission.

This individual's tasks will range from performing complex accounting and analysis functions to preparing moderate to complex accounting entries, controls, reports and disclosures, to partnering with other business units as we work through dynamic changes at the company. These changes, such as implementing accounting and reporting for CETA (Clean Energy Transformation Act) and related work such as CEIP (Clean Energy Implementation Plan) and CCA (Climate Commitment Act) tracking and reporting, technology enhancements, process redevelopment, and analysis of new energy transactions, make opportunities for learning, leadership interaction and overall growth ample. We are looking for someone who is accountable and detailed in performing tasks, as well as energized to drive innovation and improvement.
Job Responsibilities Perform complex accounting and analysis functions. Prepare, evaluate, and maintain data computed using complex financial analysis models. Evaluate and implement changes related to regulatory, GAAP and FERC compliance. Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts. Participate in the maintenance of the general ledger and/or other automated systems and databases. Review the work of other accountants. Prepare and review internal, external, and regulatory financial reports. Respond to requests received from management and other departments and represent the department at company meetings. Lead or participate on special projects/research within the department. Comply with internal controls and actively update the SOX procedures.  Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff and cross-train with other staff members. This role will be 50% support Energy Risk Control (MO), 50% Energy Accounting (BO). May act as subject matter expert (CEIP and/or CCA). Supports CETA compliance requirements through accounting and operational renewable energy credit (REC) tracking, as well as accurate and timely reporting for CETA compliance filings. Prepare CETA data periodically and perform ad-hoc analysis as needed. Participate in monthly CETA meetings. Participate in preparation of monthly COO KPI dashboard and quarterly interim target progress to the EMC. Participate in preparation of CETA Annual progress report.

  Minimum Qualifications BA/BS in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent combination of education and/or experience 3+ years of directly relevant accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and technical application  Strong ability to effectively analyze and report on financial information  Strong verbal and written skills  Strong PC skills (including Excel, Word, Access)  Desired Qualifications Experience with SAP. The pay range for this position is $76,500.00 - $127,200.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
