Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for general ledger accounts, preparing and posting journal entries, analyzing and reconciling accounts, and providing critical support for the accounting function. The role requires the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, extreme attention to detail, and high-quality financial analyses.
Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger systemOversee all balance sheet accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards and regulatory requirementsPerform account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accountsWork with the compensation team to record payroll and commission journal entriesMaintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliationAssist with initial internal control evaluationsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly accrualsPrepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and filesAssist with all external audits, including financial, tax, and regulatory, as necessarySupport the Assistant Controller in overseeing audit and examination-related processes throughout the yearAssist the Assistant Controller with the development and implementation of accounting policiesEstablish, maintain, and monitor appropriate financial policies, controls, and processesOther ad-hoc financial analysisSKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 4 years of experience working with financial teams and systems, with a focus on broker-dealers or financial institutions CPA certification preferred, or working towards CPACandidate must have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance Strong technology skills are critical, particularly expertise in Microsoft ExcelStrong knowledge of GAAP accounting and ability to perform technical accounting research as requiredAbility to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentComfortable with confidential information and/or issues and using appropriate discretion and judgmentSage Intacct experience is a plusLocation:
