Responsibilities
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.• Prepare and review schedules that support the disclosures in the Company's SEC filings.• Prepare internal management reporting packages.• Research and analyze complex accounting issues, providing guidance to internal stakeholders.• Interact directly with other members of the Accounting Team, Asset Management Team, external auditors, and internal auditors.• Assist with Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Program.• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Master's degree and / or CPA preferred.• Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial reporting, with a focus on SEC reporting for public companies.• Strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulations.• Experience with real estate accounting and familiarity with industry-specific reporting requirements is a plus.• Effective problem-solving skills and sound judgement.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Ability to function in a team-oriented setting and respond well to constructive criticism.• Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with a high attention to detail.• Tenacity toward meeting deadlines, with a strong sense of urgency and good self-management discipline.• Ability to work accurately and efficiently.• Strong ethical character and a sense of humor.• Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with SEC Filing & Reporting Software (preferably ActiveDisclosure) and experience with General Ledger software (preferably Yardi).
