A valued client of The Applied Companies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager to join their business services team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the role as Senior Accountant will be responsible for supervising all daily functions of the Accounting department. The position will require exceptional time management and organization skills due to the fast paced, growing nature of their business. The Senior Accountant will be expected to delegate daily tasks and be organized enough to shift focus in the event of an unexpected merger, acquisition, or start-up.
Key Responsibilities General Accounting & Administrative Duties Maintain general ledger Account reconciliations Fixed asset accounting & depreciation EOD cash & revenue reporting audits Maintain corporate documents Cash Management Bi-Monthly cash analysis & transfers Weekly cash balance verification for Payroll & A/P Daily cash account verification and issue resolution Month-End Close Practice revenue entries & transfers Balance sheet & bank reconciliations Monthly adjusting entries, accruals and allocations Intercompany calculations, allocations and tie-outs Financial Statement Preparation Upload P&L and BSs from QuickBooks to financial packages Update and tie-out financial packages by entity Prepare cash flows by entity Produce combined financial statements including cash flows Payroll Supervision Review payroll on a bi-weekly basis Back-up payroll processor/administrator Quarterly and annual review of quarterly payroll reports & deductions Coordinate resolution of payroll related issues (tax reporting, workers comp. etc.) A/P Supervision Review new contracts and create payment schedules Audit voucher packages for coding approval and back-up Review and approve all check runs Other Duties as Needed: Financial analysis & reporting as needed Document accounting related procedures Ad hoc projects as assigned by the Director of Finance Set up new companies including: QuickBooks set-up & implementation Business formation (bank accounts, state registrations, licenses) Project management for Paychex set-up Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in progressive accounting roles Advanced knowledge of accounting methods and practices, including GAAP Proficient in general office practices, including the utilization of accounting applications Strong communication skills, both written and oral Supervisory/management experience a plus Detail oriented with the ability to independently manage deadlines Collaborative mindset that works towards continuous process improvement and efficiency
