Atlantic Wholesale is happy to support our local college students through providing a structured internship program. Our program is designed with the following goals in mind: Provide a rotational framework that supports students in getting a broad exposure to all aspects of a privately owned business while also meeting any school credit requirements. Pay a fair wage, ensuring that students get the pay for performance experience. To provide hands-on, practical training in the concepts of manufacturing, wholesale distribution, production management. Help students to develop essential life skills necessary in their transition to working and living independently. Internship Details: Applications Due by: May 31 st , at 5PM Start and End Dates: Flexible – summer schedule, May - August
Total weeks/hours: 10 – 12 weeks, part time, between 20 and 30 hours per week. Full time not available at this time.
GPA: 2.0 (be aware your school may have a different requirement for credit based upon GPA) Pay Rate: $15/hour
Responsibilities we'll trust you with: Learn and participate in all aspects of a manufacturing facility Communication internally as well as with suppliers, customers and other stakeholders Order Processing Running Bids/Quotes Customer Service: handle complaints and service calls, following through to completion and customer satisfaction. Continue to grow product knowledge through training and relationships with vendors Representing Millwork at meetings as needed Perform other duties as assigned Your area of knowledge and expertise: Skills: Strong verbal communication skills, work as a member of a team Highly organized and able to coordinate multiple projects Relate to needs of manufacturing, salespeople and customers Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships at all organizational levels Detail oriented Takes pride in completed works Handle paperwork accurately and consistently within company guidelines and in a manner where others can follow up and complete transactions or answer questions if necessary Physical Requirements: Frequent carrying and lifting - Must be able to lift 30+ pounds Frequently sitting and standing Work Environment: works in both inside and outside weather conditions.
