Responsibilities
• Receive technical training in rodent surgeries, operant conditioning, optogenetics, and other procedures• Responsible for lab safety and regulatory compliance• Perform lab maintenance activities including ordering supplies and lab organization• Maintain rat colony• For Scientific Assistant rank, more independence is expected• For Research Intern rank, more direct supervision while learning techniques and skills
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a related scientific or engineering discipline• 3 years of professional research experience• Master's degree can substitute for 1 year of experience• Preferred qualifications include degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Chemistry, or Bioengineering• Experience with sterile surgical procedures, immunohistochemistry, and rodent behavior• Strong oral and written communication skills
