General Position Description The Subject Matter Expert will work in the Consulting Department in support of a contract with the Small Business Administration (SBA) to perform SBA Lender Oversight Reviews. The Senior Financial Analyst works on a team with other analysts responsible for commercial loan file review activities of various financial institutions in support of SBA's 7(a) Guaranteed Loan Program. The Senior Financial Analyst must successfully complete a background check and obtain an SBA security clearance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform SBA 7a loan file reviews in accordance with standard due diligence techniques to determine compliance with SOP and other regulatory requirements Conduct quality control reviews of work performed by Junior Financial Analysts Document the results of loan file review Enter loan review results into proprietary software program Required Skills, Knowledge, and Education: 10 or more years of related work experience, including at least 5 years of reviewing SBA loan activities in accordance with standard due diligence techniques at regulatory agencies, financial institutions, or similar organizations Knowledge of SBA's 7(a) Loan Program Requirements regarding loan application, underwriting, closing, servicing, liquidation and litigation; and commercial lending and credit processes Ability to analyze financial information and calculate key indicators Ability to review the work of others and provide constructive comments to promote learning Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and e-mail applications Organized individual with excellent attention to detail Communicates effectively both orally and in writing Prior SBA experience required Bachelor's degree a plus Supervision and Guidance: The Subject Matter Expert will report directly to the Project Operations Coordinator. The Expert is expected to perform assignments with minimal supervision where procedures have been established, know when to consult with the Project Operations Coordinator on complex tasks, and refer to SBA regulations and other written directives as necessary.
Environment: Work will be performed remotely and requires extensive computer usage, sitting, and professional communication.
