Supervisory Responsibility: None
Location: Jacksonville, FL

Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator will create and enforce a culture of safety within our manufacturing plant and implement programs, policies and assessments to ensure Stellar Energy and its employees meet all legal and regulatory requirements and actively support occupational health and safety guidelines. The Safety Coordinator is the driver of creating a safety conscious culture at Stellar Energy.

Essential Functions:
Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
Assist line and staff management to understand OSHA regulations and standards, specifically OSHA 1910 Industrial Standard, including guidance on handling OSHA compliance, inspections, and citations
Monitor manufacturing operations to eliminate hazardous activities.
Maintain OSHA injury and illness recordkeeping and reporting requirements
Develop and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety to minimize safety risks
Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to applicable regulations
Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
Investigate accidents or near misses to discover root causes and prepare necessary reports
Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
Lead the weekly safety meetings and Stellar Energy, to include Safety Committee
Administer the Stellar Energy safety training, to include STOP program
Update various safety programs as needed to maintain compliance with customer guidelines
Schedule and maintain routine safety inspections
Manage safety violation policy
Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits

Work Environment
This position is based at our manufacturing facility which is an industrial environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, loud noise and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.

Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., however this is subject to change due to business needs.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
Understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
Valid qualification in occupational health and safety

Preferred Education and Experience
Certificate in Safety Management
Bachelor degree in safety management or related field

Additional Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook

Work Authorization
Must be authorized to work in USA.
