We are seeking an Experienced Safety and Compliance Coordinator for a company located in Minden, LA. The successful candidate will build on existing policies, procedures, and programs and strive to continually improve our safety and compliance. Salary: $50k-$65k DOE Benefits: Health insurance plan with medical, dental, and vision coverage Life, STD, & LTD insurance – 100% paid by the company 401(k) retirement plan – 7% match PTO - 160 hours per year. 200 hours after 2 years Essential Functions: Ensure the safety of employees and the manufacturing plant by maintaining and improving safety programs. Seek ways to continually improve the safety of the operation, processes, and equipment. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Monitor and assess regulatory developments, including changes to federal acquisition regulations (FAR), defense federal acquisition regulation supplement (DFARS), and other relevant laws and regulations. Maintain, write, and implement policies and procedures. Serve as the primary contact for relevant authorities. Develop and implement an ISO 9001 and AS 9100 quality programs. Competencies, Experience, and Education: Required Minimum five years of experience in related roles. Prior experience with management of an ISO 9001 or AS 9100 quality programs.Detail- and process-oriented. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to learn and retain technical concepts.Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office software. Desired Experience with explosives (strongly desired). Certification as a safety professional, such as CSP, GSP, CIH, or similar. Experience with hazardous materials. Bachelor's Degree in a technical or related field. This is a full-time position. Typical workdays are a '4x10' schedule, 10 hours per day, Monday-Thursday. Employees are expected to work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional overtime may be required during busy periods.
