Responsibilities: This job contributes to REI's success by supporting the corporate risk and insurance department through insurance, contract review, claims administration and data management and analysis. The Risk & Insurance Analyst position is responsible for gathering internal data and preparation for insurance underwriting documents, complete statutory reporting requirements and prepare documentation for program auditors. This role will be responsible for driving standardization reporting and measuring risk management on insurance programs. Models and acts in accordance with REI's guiding values and mission. Your Planning & Navigating Requirements (the plans the job is responsible for creating and executing, and how the job ensures they are implemented) Assist in the annual renewal of all coverage placements including the Property, Casualty, FINPRO, Cyber, and Marine/Stock Throughput Programs. Under the guidance of the Risk & Insurance Manager, this role coordinates responses to internal and external stakeholder requests for input from Risk & Insurance subject matter experts. Reviews vendor 'scope of work' and contracts in-negotiation to assess contractual risk transfer and provide recommendations to protect the co-op from loss arising out of the partnership. Supports tracking and administration of first party claims (Property, Cargo, Cyber, etc) Gather and analyse data and assist in the preparation of presentations to underwriters. Gather and analyse data and provide reports to premium auditors annually. Complete annual/quarterly state and federal reporting including self-insurance assessments and bureau of labor statistics reports. Support the day-to-day administration of the insurance program including maintaining files with policies and endorsements and responding to insurance related inquires. Create and standardize reporting to monitor insurance premiums and claims payments. Assist with the management of brokers, insurers, and third-party claims administrators. Develop risk management and insurance materials for relevant stakeholders. Research appropriate risk management solutions to enable emerging company initiatives and products. Maintains key risk indicators and key performance indicators (KRIs/KPIs). Drive culture of risk management throughout the business and operationalize ways to measure risk/impact on insurance programs. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent and minimum 5 years insurance agency/career or corporate risk management experience. Education can be used in lieu of experience. Previous experience with insurance placement and claims administration. Familiarity with data analytic tools and conducting trend analysis. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to balance competing priorities and execute within tight deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaborate cross functionally. Actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals. Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by others at REI. Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities. Acts upon opportunities and involves and influences others in the accomplishment of worthwhile organizational goals. Challenges the status quo, champions change and influences others to change. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field. Applicable Insurance or Risk Management certifications. 3+ years' experience with in-house corporate risk, insurer or insurance broker. Closing: At REI, we believe the outdoors is for all. Base Pay Range: USD $63,300.00 - USD $101,500.00 /Yr.
