The Resettlement Program Manager hires, onboards and supervises a team of case managers and is responsible for quality control of CWS local office case management services including Reception & Placement, Afghan Placement & Assistance, Matching Grant, Preferred Communities, and Refugee Support Services. The Resettlement Manager liaises with local Departments of Social Services, health departments and healthcare providers, local school systems, Social Security Administration and other critical resettlement partners to ensure timely resettlement service provision and address problems as they arise.
Welcome and orient refugees to the community through the provision of core resettlement services and ongoing case management provision. Hires, onboards, trains and supervises Case Management Staff. Oversees the provision of cultural orientation. Secure appropriate and affordable housing for new refugees; develop and maintain relationships with local landlords. Develop and maintain relationships with local resettlement partners, including but not limited to Departments of Social Services, public school systems, health departments and healthcare providers, and the Social Security Administration. Coordinate multi-system problem solving among these entities to facilitate refugee self-sufficiency. Supports case management staff to remove refugee barriers to employment and realize the goal of family self-sufficiency. Ensures clients are connected to in-house support and make referrals to external service providers. Identify support services that may assist clients in becoming self-sufficient, such as ESL, transportation, immigration services, and child care. Ensure the documentation of all contacts and services in client case files and maintain case note logs. In addition to documenting all services, record clients' public assistance usage. Complete all funder required reports and submit to CWS headquarters for review. Ensure compliance to R&P contract requirements through consistent, timely and robust case file review. Stay up-to-date on program changes. Coordinate regular trainings for case management staff on program changes and train new staff on program guidelines and compliance. Partner with volunteer coordinator to organize volunteer assistance to welcome refugees. Ensure volunteer availability and suitability to support the completion of prearrival activities. Advocate on behalf of refugees, and refugee-serving voluntary agencies. Attend trainings and conferences as requested by supervisor. Keep informed about refugee and immigrant issues, and available services to refugees, using current information to better identify and serve refugee clients. Represent the program at meetings and speaking engagements relevant to the responsibilities of the position. Undertake other duties as assigned. Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in refugee resettlement required. At least 1 year experience mentoring and training staff is required. Skills: Fluency in a refugee language preferred but not required. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment required. Excellent leadership skills and strong written and verbal communication skills required. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and willingness to support as a CWS employee required. Computer literate, with strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and Access) and internet applications required. Education & Certifications: Bachelors' Degree in related field strongly preferred Special Requirements :
Work varied hours, including occasional nights, weekends and holidays. Must be willing and able to travel within NC, occasionally on short notice Must have valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle.
