Perform product improvement welding updates on steel structures for all terrain and crawler cranes and other components of Liebherr Ehingen products all over the United States.Fit, weld and repair steel structures and machine components on above mentioned machines. Working with highly sensitive high strength steel. Organize jobsites to perform repairs and / or modifications on his/ her own. Fit, weld and build steel fabrications as needed for and around the Houston workshop.
Responsibilities Completes successfully all required weld tests. Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding. Responsible for welding supply, consumables, tools and equipment. Responsible for storage tubes, plates and lacings for stock and projects. Supervise other welders, Liebherr and external. Responsible for the welding area. Lays-out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. Performs repairs as per given welding procedure. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. Handles and disposes of hazardous materials. Preparing for travelling to jobsites (Material, travel organization, etc…). Documentation of performed work (Work Report, Hour Report, Expense Report, Timesheet). Competencies Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LWE+ AWS welding certification preferred. Oral Communication: Speaks clearly; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Participates in meetings. Written Communication: Writes clearly; Able to read and interpret written information. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to interface with all levels of staff. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information. Assist the Company in any necessary duties to achieve Company goals. Perform other related duties as assigned. Proficiency in PC based word processing and spreadsheets. Ability to multi-task while completing work in a competent and professional manner. Travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the time Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license and passport. Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends or on call duty.
