Position Summary:
The IT Technician I role within the Information Technology department involves providing hardware and software support to company users, including office and warehouse employees. Responsibilities include managing the IT ticket system to address hardware, software, and access-related issues.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to Springfield & Joliet users through remote access support, phone assistance, and in-person help.
- Gather necessary information to troubleshoot tickets effectively.
- Troubleshoot software and applications, including general PC/workstation support, basic network troubleshooting, and AV support.
- Take ownership of support tickets and escalate when necessary.
- Document all resolutions and important information.
- Handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to unforeseen technical issues.
- Proactively support end users with current Windows systems and stay updated on new releases and features.
- Travel to secondary locations within Springfield, MO, Springfield Underground, and occasionally to Joliet, IL.
- Assist IT Technician 2 and systems staff as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Work primarily in a controlled atmosphere with potential exposure to harsh conditions for short periods. Physical requirements include sitting (60%), standing (20%), walking (20%), and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly for short distances.
Job Specifications:
Education & Experience:
- 2 years of experience in an IT-related position.
- PREFERRED: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and Server+.
- Working technical knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows systems, Active Directory, basic Networking, label printers, scanners, desktop printers, and office copiers.
