Job Description: The Refractory Installer assumes responsibility for meticulously installing refractory materials, including insulating cement, within a variety of industrial settings such as furnaces, kilns, boilers, and other high-temperature apparatus. This pivotal role entails the adept handling of specialized materials to craft resilient and heat-resistant linings, safeguarding industrial equipment against both extreme temperatures and chemical degradation. Key duties involve methodically reviewing blueprints, technical specifications, and work orders to ascertain the project scope and necessary materials. Additionally, preparing surfaces for refractory installation by meticulously clearing away debris, outdated refractory materials, and contaminants is paramount. Precisely mixing insulating cement and other refractory materials in strict accordance with manufacturer guidelines and then expertly applying them to surfaces using hand tools, trowels, or advanced spraying equipment is central to the role.
Requirements: Minimum of two (2) years of prior experience in refractory installation. Consistent work history preferred. Successful completion of drug test and background check. Comprehensive knowledge of insulation materials, tools, and installation techniques. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship. Physical stamina and adaptability to work in various environmental conditions. Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
