Job Description Career Strategy Consultants is seeking a Quality Engineer for a large manufacturing client near Gary, IN. Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Possess the ability to work effectively within a team environment, utilizing clear and effective communication and coaching skills.
Provide leadership by guiding and supporting team members to overcome obstacles.
Lead projects and multidisciplinary teams to support continuous improvement and reduction of waste.
Provide metallurgical and technical support for product and process improvement through data analysis, problem solving, expertise in area of responsibility, metallurgical and mechanical concepts, and knowledge of customer operations and markets.
Monitor product and process variability and performance to standards with a focus on improving practices and product performance.
Meet with representatives of customers / processors to provide innovative solutions to quality and reliability issues and provides customers with timely solutions.
Deliver technical solutions to internal and external customers by understanding manufacturing and product capability.
Work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, planning, and other technical resources to drive results.
Communicate with upstream and downstream operations to improve practices and performance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Metallurgy, Material Science or related field
Minimum 2 years experience in manufacturing, preferably materials manufacturing.
Proven communication (verbal and written), analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
Must be able to work in a hot, dusty environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years experience in materials manufacturing, preferably metals.
Demonstrated success in defining and resolving problems.
Ability to excel in a dynamic work environment.
