The Pursuit Engineer is a key member of our Sales team to support strategic clients in the Western US. This is a bridge role from engineering into business development.
Who is Access Limited Construction?
Access Limited specializes in rockfall mitigation and slope stabilization systems, and is considered to be an industry leader in designing and installing rockfall protection, slope stabilization systems, and performing difficult access drilling throughout the United States.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Lead in development of innovative solutions to solve geohazard mitigation problems. ~50% of time focused on completing engineering tasks that support BD.
- Leads Engineering and Estimating (including Means and Methods) during Pursuit
- Determines needs for, and coordinates with PDE, additional site reconnaissance investigations to gather additional information, as needed (e.g. 2nd site visits)
- Serves as Design Manager of moderately to highly complex projects
- Directs analysis, design, plan development, and submittal preparation for simple to complex projects, including managing and meeting deliverable schedules
- Coordinates regular on-site visits during construction of simple to complex projects.
Commercial Responsibilities:
- Supports Project Development Engineer (PDE) in Region or client-sector in vetting potential projects (Go/No Go)
- Assists in Regional commercial strategy (pricing, funnel management, prospecting) including use of the CRM system.
- Writes/Reviews Proposals to ensure terms and conditions are consistent with technical/commercial/operational risks management.
- Represent GSI externally through leadership in professional societies and at conferences through presentations and papers
- Supports PDEs and Regional Directors as Lead Engineer during meetings with customers and third-parties
Experience & Qualifications
- History of working with the Department of Transportation
- Demonstrated experience with slope stability and retaining wall design
- History of working with department of transportation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
- Expert at reading and interpreting plans and specifications including USACE, DOT, FHWA.
- Experienced delivering successful projects including negotiated bids, hard bids, Unit Price, Lump Sum, and Force Account work.
- Organizational skills, communication and people skills required. The ability to communicate with internal and external customers.
- Vast knowledge of geotechnical design methodologies
- Strong written, oral, presentation and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and leadership Skills.
- Working knowledge of critical-path-method scheduling tools and project budgets.
- Willingness to Travel
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering; advanced degree preferred.
- PE and/or EIT licensure
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
