Aptive is seeking a Public Health Analyst to support ICE Health Services Corps (IHSC) . IHSC's mission is to provide medical care to maintain the health of individuals in the custody of ICE . IHSC is committed to ensuring a system of care that is ethical, responsible, and accountable through rigorous surveillance and monitoring activities . The Public Health Analyst at Aptive will play a key role in providing this support to IHSC and achieving their mission.   This position requires on-site hybrid support at our client location.
Conducts data collection, data management, surveillance, epidemiologic, and operational analyses involving statistical programming, data interpretation, and preparation of results.   Supports the IHSC Tuberculosis Coordination and Care Team, infectious disease surveillance, public health interventions, and special projects.   Prepares written analytic reports.   Prepares literature reviews; compiles, analyzes, and summarizes information concisely and at a level suitable for the intended audience; presents data at intra-agency, inter-agency, and national meetings   Write official guidance and planning documents.   Collaborates with public health and law enforcement partners.   Maintains current knowledge of program areas.   Assesses program goals, objectives , priorities, progress, impact, and outcomes.   Mentors student volunteers assisting with various surveillance, program assessment and process improvement projects.   Travel as directed for the needs of the Agency.   Completes all initial , annual and ad hoc training as required/assigned.   Maintains patient confidentiality, and confidentiality of medical records, in compliance with the Privacy Act and HIPAA regulations in all work activities.   Adheres to, and maintains awareness of, IHSC official guidance and accreditation standards as prescribed by ICE/IHSC.   Attends and participates in meetings, workgroups, and committees appropriate to the position.   Maintains professional skills via continuing education opportunities.   Other duties as assigned.   Master's degree in public health epidemiology or related analytical public health field.   Professional background in epidemiology preferably associated with a correctional setting.   Minimum of one-year experience with public health practice.   Proficiency with quantitative data analysis, statistical programming, and data interpretation.   Flexibility in applying analytical public health skills and knowledge in a detention health services environment.   Proficiency designing, collecting, and managing data using Microsoft Access and EpiInfo .   Strong quantitative skills in data collection, data management, and data analysis   Proficiency with epidemiologic analysis using SAS statistical analysis software package.   Knowledge and understanding of public health actions related to infectious diseases of public health significance.   Proficiency with professional and technical writing in English.   Proficiency with presentation of scientific and public health information   Ability to adapt to sudden changes in schedules and flexibility in work requirements.   Ability to communicate proficiently in English (verbal and written) to develop positive rapport with co-workers and other stakeholders.   Ability to maintain positive working relationships in a multidisciplinary environment.   Ability to navigate in an electronic work environment including electronic health records, web-based training and communications.   Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro.   Knowledge of, and proficiency in, common Microsoft Office programs, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.   Ability to create and edit documents using Microsoft Office Tools including database building and manipulation in Access.   Knowledge of regulations (HIPAA/Privacy Act) regarding the confidentiality of patient medical records and information as well as Personally Identifiable Information (PII).   Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance as required for the position   Previous experience supporting a federal program, experience with IHSC highly desired   PMP or other project management experience   IHSC's mission is to provide medical care to maintain the health of individuals in the custody of ICE through an integrated health care delivery system, based on nationally recognized correctional, detention and residential health care standards .
