About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Property Underwriting Specialist for our Midwest Zone, ideally based in Chicago. In this role, you will be responsible for both new business development and renewal management. Collaborating closely with brokers across the Midwest, you will underwrite risks spanning various industries nationwide. Our team focuses on Real Estate, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Wholesale Distribution businesses, employing a proprietary property form for comprehensive coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate relationships with key brokers to drive submission activity and ensure profitable growth of assigned portfolio.
- Meet or exceed new business production targets while maintaining portfolio profitability and adhering to underwriting guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and brokers to retain key accounts, coordinating Risk Services & Claims Service plans as needed.
- Develop and execute prospect pipelines with trading partners, exploring cross-selling opportunities within the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of Underwriting experience, preferably in Middle Market Property or Multiline background
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to establish a marketplace presence and build trust with brokers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Compensation:
The annualized base pay range for this role is $96,944 - $166,190, with additional performance-based incentives and comprehensive benefits.
