NICOR Lighting sells a variety of lighting products as well as large projects to a smaller set of key customers. These projects can be large in scope and delivered in several stages in accordance with our customers' construction schedules. The Project Coordinator will collaborate with all internal departments such as Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Production, as well as provide continuous support to the customer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop a project plan/schedule and coordinate required resources to meet scheduled deadlines for the entire project. Understand the scope of the project, take ownership, and act as the primary contact for the customer. Follow-up at all project phases to keep the project on track to meet expectations. Includes: submittal preparation, approval reviews, order management, progressive billing, and additional support tasks. Actively maintaining customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and quality of service. Provide excellent follow-ups for all sales calls and orders as needed. Communicate project updates with customers and other internal/external parties. Organize and document all commercial and technical aspects of the project. Coordinate shipping and delivery of products to customers Responsible for coordinating all specification documents including product specification sheets, installation instructions, quotes, construction documents, and other technical information. Keeping track of revisions in all documentation. Acting as liaison with the customer and project staff to properly identify and process scope changes, address issues, communicate regarding project milestones, etc. Responsive sense of urgency to take the approved final product to the customer in an efficient manner. Attention to detail. An ability to prioritize, work within deadlines, handle multiple projects, and maintain objectives. Travel MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. Basic understanding of Cost Accounting Proven track record of project management. 2-3 years of strong customer service focus and providing a satisfactory resolution to customer questions 1-2 years, experience working with cross-functional teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with electrical products, and lighting layout drawings. A high level of technical understanding and at least three years of Project Management/Inside Sales/Technical Position experience in the lighting manufacturing industry is preferred. Basic understanding and technical skills in the lighting industry, lighting controls or power management industries preferred. Participate in Engineering and Product Management meetings to determine, understand and communicate all aspects of the project and products pertaining to key customers. Schedule internal technical meetings as necessary to clarify the scope of the project with engineering and supply chain management. Extremely detail oriented; ability to track shipping, check technical documents, and communicate with customers. Financial acumen as it relates to pricing and budget development. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and oral presentation skills. Ability to prioritize business needs. Team player, with strong collaboration skills. Must work well with or without supervision, be motivated, and a team player. Able to Perform Work Under Pressure Critical Thinking, Problem Solving & Multitasking Working Conditions: In a typical interior/warehouse/office environment: work performed in an Office setting is largely a sedentary role, must be able to sit for long durations of time; warehouse environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, and fumes. May require standing or walking for more than 4 hours per day. Able to lift 40 lbs. Limited travel to various service/component suppliers' meetings or industry conferences and trade shows.
