Position: Accountant
Your Impact
Joining our team presents an exceptional opportunity for an experienced accountant with a passion for finance. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our projects by overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants administration. Your contributions will directly influence the success of our projects as you develop and implement systems to enhance financial processes and reporting.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage all financial, project/program, and grants accounting functions, ensuring alignment with budgetary guidelines.
- Forecast organizational cash flow and collaborate with senior leadership to optimize program operations.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements across all financial reporting.
- Conduct regular data analysis to produce accurate financial reports for senior leadership.
- Coordinate audit activities and ensure accuracy and effectiveness in financial procedures.
- Facilitate communication and maintain positive relationships with vendors, monitors, and board staff.
- Lead initiatives to enhance internal communication and strengthen teamwork within the finance team.
- Develop and implement training programs to leverage the strengths of the finance team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including grant accounting, budget preparation, and financial management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive working relationships.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and solve complex problems.
