Position Summary: This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the production activities of a fast-growing architectural lighting company. The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all production activities, including setting and achieving production goals, improving efficiency, maintaining a high standard of product quality, and managing production resources. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Take full responsibility for executing production objectives, ensuring on-time delivery goals, and actively addressing problems in production and operations. Responsible for managing a team of 25 employees. Responsible for managing human and capital resources, developing and implementing a production plan with upper management, and ensuring that procedures are carried out properly. Work with Operations to evaluate organizational efficiency and make necessary changes to maximize staff productivity. Set and improve KPIs across different production cells. Improve, measure, and maintain lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles across the company. Motivate and lead the production supervisors, while also facilitating communication across the whole organization. Working in tandem with the engineering team to identify product and production efficiency opportunities. Drive manufacturing readiness for product launch and transfer to production. Develop expertise in the lighting industry and lighting manufacturing methods. Work with our operations and engineering teams in building and fostering strong vendor relationships. Implementing operational policies and guidelines for the organization. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. At least five years of experience in a Production Manager role. At least five years of applicable manufacturing experience. Strong understanding of materials and electronics fundamentals. Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes, production environments, electro-mechanical design, and engineering principles. Knowledge of cost-efficient and high-quality process design, lean manufacturing principles, and product cost drivers. Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience working with lean systems. Experience working with teams cross-functionally. Heightened attention to detail, and an obsessive approach to organizational principles. Strong organizational and leadership abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Superior analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Proficient use of information systems (experience using MRP is a plus).
