We are currently on the lookout for a skilled Procurement Analyst to join a client project based in New Haven, CT, offering the flexibility of a 100% remote position within the EST time zone.
Position Overview:
As a Procurement Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in providing high-level support across various financial functions. Your responsibilities will include executive-level assistance, financial analysis, budgeting, invoice auditing, and management of corporate credit card accounts. Additionally, you'll serve as a valuable backup resource for our Buyers during their absences and periods of high demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage and reconcile corporate credit card accounts, ensuring all documentation is complete, charges are accurate, and approvals are obtained. Remain vigilant for any signs of fraud or misuse and take appropriate actions when necessary.
- Provide comprehensive analysis to senior management and functional departments, covering areas such as sourcing projects, budgets, invoices, and contracts. Be prepared to offer ad-hoc analysis to resolve issues and support strategic business decisions.
- Conduct thorough audits of monthly invoices from Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors to verify accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
- Support financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring targets are met and identifying areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
- Actively engage in reconciliations and address inquiries from suppliers and internal departments. Utilize findings to recommend strategies for enhanced cost efficiency and escalate any pertinent issues.
- Serve as a backup resource for our Buyers, stepping in during absences or peak periods. Conduct negotiations with vendors and facilitate procurement activities to maintain operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Proficiency in generating supplier metric reports using Coupa e-Procurement application.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities with keen attention to detail.
- Proven track record of independent work and success in fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with Coupa e-procurement software, cloud-based solutions, and ERP systems like Oracle or SAP.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Bachelor's degree in financial management, business administration, or accounting required.
- 3-5 years of procurement experience is mandatory, with a minimum of 3 years in data analysis, forecasting, budget management, and reporting.
