Responsibilities
• Serve as instructional leader and maximize learning potential of all students• Analyze and interpret data to determine instructional focus and implement programs and strategies for enrichment and remediation• Coordinate curriculum development and communicate division-wide policies and procedures• Evaluate program effectiveness and staff according to School Board policy• Provide ongoing staff development and interpret School Board policies to parents and the public• Direct appropriate programs including athletics, performing arts, and academic activities• Work with the Department of Instructional Technology to enhance student learning through technology• Coordinate staffing needs and participate in recruitment and selection of high school staff• Represent the school division at meetings, conferences, and public forums• Analyze data on student conduct, resolve student and district issues regarding discipline
Requirements
• Master's degree in administration• Eligibility for Virginia Post Graduate license with appropriate administration endorsement• Experience in teaching and school administration• Extensive knowledge of school administration, instructional program planning, child growth and development, and state and federal regulations• Demonstrated abilities in decision-making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, and long-range planning• Effective communication skills
