Furthermore, our group has been at the forefront of developing AI-based algorithms for a wide range of topics. We are major contributors and hold institutional responsibilities for the operations of the silicon strip tracker, the hadron calorimeter, and the R&D of Phase 2 HL-LHC upgrades of the outer tracker and the endcap calorimeter of CMS. In addition, the group is also strongly involved in the R&D of future particle physics experiments, such as the Future Circular Collider (FCC).
We offer challenging opportunities associated with our responsibilities in CMS and exciting possibilities in the analysis of the discovery-quality data of LHC Run 2 and ongoing Run 3. The successful applicant is expected to take a leading role in CMS physics analyses and actively participate in our detector operations responsibilities, as well as the R&D for the CMS Phase 2 upgrade. Other potential activities include studies of the detector optimization and physics potential for the FCC-ee.
